Are You Sick of Hurting?

Published by Fogle40 on

If you’ve looked at the About Me page, you understand why sometimes I just get sick of hurting.  I know many of you are in the same boat.  Uncontrolled pain and fatigue are more frequent than one might ever realize.  So what are you to do?

Honestly, I have been known in the past to sleep with a huge ice pack on my neck/shoulders.  It was the only way to relax and be able to go to sleep and stop the burning and aching in my shoulders.  Someone recently asked about why I used the CBD oil and what pain I was experiencing.  It’s hard to explain, but this is pretty good.  Imagine living with it for over 25 years.  There are days I would give anything to be “normal”.

Symptoms of fibromyalgia include:

  • Widespread pain. The pain associated with fibromyalgia often is described as a constant dull ache that has lasted for at least three months. To be considered widespread, the pain must occur on both sides of your body and above and below your waist.
  • Fatigue. People with fibromyalgia often awaken tired, even though they report sleeping for long periods of time. Sleep is often disrupted by pain, and many patients with fibromyalgia have other sleep disorders, such as restless legs syndrome and sleep apnea.
  • Cognitive difficulties. A symptom commonly referred to as “fibro fog” impairs the ability to focus, pay attention and concentrate on mental tasks.

Fibromyalgia often co-exists with other painful conditions, such as:

  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Migraine and other types of headaches
  • Interstitial cystitis or painful bladder syndrome
  • Temporomandibular joint disorders

Yep, yep, yep, I’ve got them all.  I sleep with a mouth guard to keep the TMJ under control, use a CPap machine, and sometimes even compression stockings help me sleep.

About 18 months ago I herniated a disc in my back.  Add that to the mix and the inability to take anti-inflammatory medications, I was looking for a way to ease the pain.  I began experimenting with CBD oil.  I’ve tried three different brands.  Used oils, capsules and creams.  My favorite, Hempworx, is an independently-tested full spectrum oil.  I get the most benefit from using the CBD oil drops both morning and night.

Now for those who may think CBD oil is a fad or will make you high.  Remember, I’m a 60+ year old former police department employee who is very active in my church.  I don’t get high, I just get relief.  The CBD oil does not have the THC in it which is the part of the plant associated with the marijuana high.  Honestly, even as a child of the 70s, I’ve never tried that!  But when you look at many medications, they are derived from plants.

Here are some of the country’s better known drugs, in their natural, pre-processed form.
  • Opium poppy (heroin, morphine, codeine) …
  • Blue agave (Tequila) …
  • Coca leaves (cocaine) …
  • Ephedra sinica (Sudafed, meth) …
  • Psilocybin mushroom (shrooms) …
  • Willow bark (aspirin) …
  • Sassafras root (ecstasy) …
  • Penicillium mold (penicillin)

So is it wrong to try another plant to get relief?  I don’t think so.  If you’re ready click here
